I haven't done a music post in a while and that makes me a little sad. I love music. My last post about music was about how it feeds my soul and then I go three months not posting about music. Blurgh! Okay, well, here we go:
I've been listening to Beach House for months straight since the album dropped back in May. This song was my favorite that they played at the concert in October. It sounds so much better live. I can't describe it, but just thinking about it gives me goosebumps. This video was just released recently and now every time I hear the song, I picture this video. Matt says that's the sign of a good video. It was listed in Entertainment Weekly's Top Ten things of the week. My word. It's just so great. I can't even describe how awesome this video is. You'll have to watch it yourself. It's bizarre, but in a really good way.
This song is easily my song of the year 2012. Every time I hear it, it gives me goosebumps. I can never listen to it softly. I always have to turn it up very loud. We had this cd at work and I kept getting pissed at the music department because they would cut the cd off before the song was over (it's about six minutes long). The best parts come after the quieter part! It's like the calm before the storm, except this is a beautiful storm. The most beautiful storm. It's one of my favorite kinds of Grizzly Bear songs. It's loud, it's quiet. It's long. It has many layers. It's so amazing that I don't even know if I have any other words for it so rather than rambling and being redundant, I will end here.
