adventure in the middle of nowhere

I'm not trying to offend anyone who lives near Holy Hill, but come on, it is in the middle of nowhere. I had never been to Holy Hill until two years ago when a friend introduced me to the area. Rolling hills, beautiful fall foliage, more farms than people-- it is wonderful. I wanted to go on an adventure on my day off yesterday. The fella and I had a tasty lunch at Dr Dawg and headed up to HWY 167, or Holy Hill Road. The other times I had been there, I only wandered the grounds, but we climbed the tower. Ironically, my co-worker Brian also wanted to go on an adventure yesterday. He ended up at Holy Hill, but was there in the morning. When he was there, he said that the tower was closed due to the winds. It was open by the time we were there. We got to the last set of stairs that take you to the top, but the wind was coming in so strong and I made the mistake of looking down. I freaked so we just hung out in the super windy room for a while and took in the view, as well as cooled down from the hike.

These were the Stairs o' Death. We kept tripping as we walked up them.
