better times

These are from the night before the Fourth when we left before the fireworks were over because of the fight that broke out. I forget how much I love to shoot at night. I haven't used my Nikon a lot since I got my iPhone. It makes me rather sad and I should vow to use it more often. I hope I do. Hopefully, dusting off the ol' gal on the third was just the beginning. I forgot to mention how Erin and I got stuck in traffic on our way home. I literally live less than ten minutes from Mary, probably even five on a normal day. It took us an hour to get back to my place. Blurgh! In the process, some obnoxious people in the car next to us thought it'd be awesome to start shouting things at us. Erin was tempted to roll up the window, and I said,"No, let's just blast Big Ole Butt." It worked!

I thought that walking to Gordon Park would be a fiasco, but there were just a lot of families there. No rabble-rousers. It was a blast! I enjoyed the company I had and it was the best people watching. When we got back home, drank some beers and watched Clueless. What a great way to end the Fourth!

Yesterday, I saw Moonrise Kingdom. That movie stole my heart. I loved it! The trailers before it were wonderful, too. I got goosebumps from The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Dark Knight Rises. I am so excited for them both. The Perks I am extra excited for just because I read it as I was going into high school. It had a huge impact on me and I just can't wait to see it come alive on the screen. And I know that people want to see To Rome With Love because it's a Woody Allen film and OMGZORZ it's Woody Allen, but what sold it to me what the fact that Roberto Benigni is in it. If you have not seen Life Is Beautiful (La vita รจ bella), go see it right meow. Yep, right meow. Wonderfully sad, brilliant movie. I called Jason "Principessa" the other day because he just got back from Italy and kept saying "buongiorno" to us. "BUONGIORNO PRINCIPESSA!" Okay, enough rambling. To everyone who read this far, I love you and have a great weekend! Even if you didn't read this whole rambly post of mine, still have a great weekend!
