sittin' on the dock of the bay

I have a soft spot in my musical heart for Otis Redding, may he rest in peace. I always have my iTunes on random and when I just came back into my room, this song was playing. Alex and I listened to a lot of Otis Redding on our road trip to Seattle so it brings up good memories. I had a terrible day yesterday. It should have been remedied by the arrival of my Holga 120N, but alas, the arrival of material possessions did not take away this feeling I had. I had a slightly better day today. The feeling hasn't gone away; I still feel pretty miserable, but I did have a lovely haircut. I love getting shampooed because then I get a scalp massage. It's the most relaxing thing to me.

I realize that most of the photos I've posted of myself feature me with straight hair, even though I love my curly hair. I swear, my hair is naturally curly and I wear it curly errday, all day. My stylist asked me if I wanted her to straighten it and I said,"Sure. I haven't had it straight in a while." I'm trying my hardest to be good and grow my hair out. Alex makes fun of me because for a second, I'll enjoy my short hair and then I whine,"Why did I cut all my hair off? I liked my hair longer..." So that he didn't have to deal with all of that, I just opted for a trim.

In other news, I got that Holga that I mentioned above. I also have a roll of Ilford HP5 Plus 120 film to work with. I'm fairly certain that there is nowhere in Milwaukee that processes medium format film. I'll have to call Ritz Photo tomorrow to see if they can send it out for me, otherwise I'll be scouring the internet for a place to send my film to be developed. I hope it'll be that simple. I swear the man I talked to over a year ago said that they don't process any of the Ilford HP5 Plus films there so they could send it out, I just need it confirmed before I walk in there with my film and feel like a tool.

my newest baby to my collection

I enjoy psychology and how the mind works. Dexter made me think a lot about psychology and when I found this book, I had to have it. It's so interesting!

I'd been craving this sandwich since Sunday. I finally got it!
